Vision
The Latin-American Federation of
Rural Women understands the importance of
preparing and organizing women to empower them
to exercise and defend their rights.
Our vision is based on the historic
coincidences of all rural women’s situation
around the world. We know that it is not
divorced from the circumstances of other women.
But, we have seen some unique peculiarities
within the female rural community. It is our
goal to support women in an effort to
demonstrate that their rights are not limited to
the capabilities of having children and a
family. But also the right to influence the
community and the personal and spiritual
satisfaction that it brings.
Mission
The Latin-American Federation of
Rural Women’s Mission is to encourage,
promote, support,
strengthen,
train and counsel
women to
achieve equality in the participation
and decision-making
at all levels
of the organization;
as well as their
social, labor, unions and
business.
To make available to women the
necessary tools (training,
counseling, etc.). To
promote their participation,
both at
the grassroots level and
in leadership
positions. Encourage the promotion of
organizations and foundations for
purposes consistent
with the principles and
needs of
women, providing
support, through
voting,
to encourage
women to
reach leadership positions.
Prepare and train women in both
their social life,
proper financial administration, so they
can meet the challenge of the limitations that
may interfere with the exercise of their rights.
Identify problems that affect
women and
jointly submit
proposals,
recommendations and
set demands, if
the case requires.
It is the federation’s mission to
raise women's
leadership in
society, strengthening
their cultural and
moral foundation
and raising their
economic status through
their own
individual development.
With all these mechanism at had we expect to see
an improvement in their professionalism and also
the initiative to develop new entrepreneurism
ideas.
Involve women
in the
problems and solutions of
their own community,
with specific
guidelines on sensitive
issues such
as health, domestic
violence, alcoholism, drug addiction,
prostitution, personal hygiene,
and environmental hygiene.
Also support groups and training on self-upbringing of
their children.
Fight against child
abuse,
often concealed
in the economic
situation of their own
parents and relatives, taking
place in the form of work unsuitable
for their
age and
sometimes even humiliating,
affecting their
self-esteem and
personality.
Ultimately our mission is to
create an environment that makes rural life a
constant motivation for rural women to feel as
an equal class, as a woman, compared to urban
women. |
